Treatment and support — your journey back to health

You should always expect great care. But when you’re dealing with a serious health issue, you deserve care that exceeds your expectations. Kaiser Permanente members get great doctors, the latest technology, and evidence-based care — all working together for one important cause. You.

Better care with a connected team

From the minute you receive a diagnosis, teams of specialists — along with your primary care physician — are working together to create your treatment plan. They each bring unique perspectives and expertise, and coordinate across locations and specialties to deliver seamless, personalized, and effective care.

Personalized care and 360-degree support

Specialty care at Kaiser Permanente isn’t one-size-fits-all. Your entire care team is personally invested in your health — so they take the time to listen, explain, and guide you. We’re here to give you what you need, whether it’s care in your language, social and emotional support, or a chat about alternative treatment options. This personalized approach provides peace of mind for you and your family — and most importantly, a healthy future for you.

More than a treatment plan

You’re not just getting treatment. You’re getting care.

Shared decision-making

You can talk to your care team about anything, and you always have a choice and a voice.

Team support

Each care provider brings unique expertise and is personally invested in your health.

Seamlessly coordinated care

It's not your job to keep track of what kind of care you need. It's ours.

Advanced treatment and evidence-based care

We treat illnesses using the latest evidence, technologies, and techniques — and continually innovate new ways to advance care delivery and improve health outcomes.

We use robust predictive data to identify members at higher risk for certain serious illnesses, develop targeted treatment plans that help minimize side effects, and more.

Our cardiac care programs include cutting-edge transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) surgeries to replace heart valves without open-heart surgery. That means shorter recovery times, smaller scars, and less time in the hospital — just 1 or 2 days on average, versus a week or more for open heart surgeries.

Learn how else we’re helping patients heal faster

We use industry-leading technologies to perform minimally invasive treatment for cancer while avoiding nearby healthy tissue. Surgeons can perform operations faster and more precisely, and recovery times are shorter than with traditional surgeries.

ERAS replaces the traditional fasting, bed rest, and opioids with soft foods, standing or walking soon after surgery, and nonnarcotic painkillers. The results? Shorter hospital stays, fewer complications after surgery, and faster recoveries.

Transforming care through technology

Technology is powerful. And within our connected system, it can do even more to help improve care and save lives.
Accelerating care when every second matters
Time is of the essence during a stroke — about 2 million brain cells die every minute until treatment starts.1 By synchronizing technology and bringing remote specialists into the room, we’re able to give stroke patients life-saving medication almost twice as fast as the national average.2

Using data to predict, manage, and minimize risk
Our electronic health record system identifies patients whose conditions are likely to get worse in the next 12 hours — then triggers an alert to clinicians, so they can closely monitor and prioritize their care. This program has helped us reduce inpatient mortality risk.
